The stress on the molded plasic prong that keeps it in the holder is too great, and it will break if you use the lamp pulled forward and down. I know. I've broken two. While I have not used it as a table model, I see no reason why it would not break there as well given the same circumstances. They should use two prongs or a metal assembly.
