The colors and patterns were way off; instead of a subtle gold and red pattern, the lamp I got was painted in harsh reds, whites, and blues, with patches of large orange swirls. The finish on the lamp as well as the metal parts was dull and cheap looking. Also, I wanted the smallish 24" lamp for a small space; the base is actually 24" so the total height was more like 34", a large lamp. I'm not sure how tall the shade was because I didn't open it but sent both back for a refund.
