(More customer reviews)This lamp is just what I was looking for in a small accent light for my living room. I had two surprises the first time I turned it on. The first surprise was minutes after I took it out of the box and packaging; I plugged it in and after a few seconds all the lights in the neighborhood went out. Nothing to do with the lamp Boston was experiencing the [first][and hopefully last] blizzard of 2011! The power lines were affected by the heavy ice and snow and the high winds, Very dramatic.
The second surprise was the two levels of light. Since the power was out I turned the switch; thinking it would be better to have it off when power was restored. Mounted on a dark wood base, this cylindrical porcelain has a lovely multicolored floral pattern and is a great size and shape for a chest in a traditional room.
